Family: Father Tellack, Younger twin sisters Visenya and Rhaenmaur.
Animals: A chestnut stallion named Gawaelin (after his best friend) and a sturdy black mare named Héhsta who has seen him through many a trial.
Weapons: He has a number of swords he has made over the years and many daggers. It is easier for Aegon to use throwing daggers but he has learned to hold his sword in one arm, and has the strength to throw large rocks and small boulders over his shoulder.
Personality: For such a self-hating man Aegon has a warm and caring disposition toward others. As his sister Rhaenmaur has said on a number of occasions Aegon is the most gentle-hearted person she knows. This to some extent is very true. He is rather self-deprecating but has a very likable personality, an amiable nature. Above all things Aegon is bold and unafraid to speak his mind when he feels the need. Perhaps it is his disfigured face which makes him readily willing to speak his opinion when he would otherwise keep things to himself. He is very strong, even with only the use of one arm, he cannot easily hold a sword in his right hand for very long and does not have the full range of motion he once had, but he makes due with what he has, and has learned to become left handed with the help of Visenya who is naturally left handed. It hurts when he tries to use his right arm fully. Nonetheless he is a very hard working young man who values honor and loyalty. Smart he is a fair strategist. His limitations have instilled in him the need to always be prepared. Aegon has funny habits, he always double knots his boots if they are should require it (tied with a leather cord), sleeps with the windows open, and never takes sugar in his tea.
Appearance: Aegon has medium length wavy unruly strawberry blonde hair. The longest strands brush his shoulders. He has warm green eyes, a tanned complexion and a muscular build. Aegon used to be considered one of the most handsome and sought after young men in all of Rohan though after a fight with Corsairs the right side of his face has been brutally scarred, even one scar stretches across his right eye and eyebrow. He walks with a limp which cannot be unnoticed no matter how he tries. When his clothes are removed among the small imperfections he has gathered over the years is a large scar which runs over his right shoulder as if someone had attempted to cut it clean off. Aegon thinks himself quite ugly and curses this fact every day. He has a small star marking on the inside of his left wrist like each of his siblings to remind him that no matter where he goes he always has them with him. Being friend of the King they are not without wealth and therefore his clothes are of rich fabrics often in royal hues, many used to say he bears the countenance of a Prince though he is not one.
History:
His father Tellack is a blacksmith, renowned for his work in steel and precious metals that make the finest and most indestructible armor, as well as swords with intricate detailing. Aegon’s mother died when he had nearly become a man and was starting to create beautiful metalwork like his father. Aegon thanks the gods that she was able to see his usefulness in blacksmithing and is not able to see him now. When returning home from a ride with his sister Visenya and his best friends Beren and Gawaelin, they road right into the fray of an assault on the village by Corsairs. Aegon defended his home, his sister and friends as best he could and was struck down many times, but his will to save his family was the only thing that kept him going. He was brutally injured and only survived because Visenya dragged him to safety, his friends perished. The right side of his face was so badly beaten that they worried he might lose his eye, but luckily he didn’t. From that day on Aegon chides himself for not being more prepared and thinks himself a beast and wonders how any woman could ever love a beast.
Though their family is well off they are not as rich as Kings and to help support their family other than assisting Visenya and their father in the forge –he has been known to make the most beautiful detailing, taking after his father– Aegon works at the bakery down the road a ways, he is quite good at heaving bags of flower over his back.
