Race: Elf - Sindar
Height: 6'5
Age: not certain, but probably born in the early first
Family: unknown
Weapons: Belthronding, a massive bow made out of hard yew-wood

Personality: The Strongbow is fair and is a strong believer in justice and peace, but will not hesitate to fight for whom and what he loves. He is a faithful friend and will go to great lengths for those he loves. The Strongbow appreciates nature and communes with it; has enduring patience as he is a mentor of several learning archers and warriors, yet he can also be intense and feel emotions deeply, as Elves do. The Strongbow is a peacemaker yet also a warrior.

Appearance: The Strongbow is described as being "of great stature and girth", elf-wise; I assume this means he was quite tall and well-built. Tolkien never tells if his hair is light or dark, resembling Legolas or Elrond, so it is up to the reader. He wears the clothes of a hunter and a warden of forests -- earthy tones, for the most part, and armor for battles. Tolkien never puts in detail what the Strongbow really wore- but concluding that he was the chief marchwarden of Doriath, called "Strongbow," and in general was a mighty warrior and healer, he probably wore sensible things anyone with that criteria might wear. Whatever a marchwarden wore - leather, wool, cotton? - in other words. What Tolkien did specify was that the Strongbow wore a white cloak, at one point.

History:

Tolkien wrote about the Strongbow in the Silmarillion, and Unfinished Tales. He doesn’t have much of a past it seems, and there leaves a lot to be speculated about him. But his ending is very sad.

The Strongbow belongs to JRR Tolkien, not I. 🙂
