A feared and misunderstood place to almost all but the Elves, the enchanted wood of Lothlorien was the home of Galadriel, the Lady of Light. It was by her power and that of the ring she bore that the borders of this land were kept closed to evil, but this secretive realm was a source of fear to many. Against Gimli’s advice, Aragorn led the Fellowship into Lothlorien in search of shelter and rest after their loss in Moria. Under the bows of the great mallorn trees and the watchful protection of the Galadhrim Elves, they found friendship and respite for a time.
