‘Sacred stories’ mirror Tolkien’s tales
Hobbits in their holes could hardly have been cozier than Robert Wilhelm’s students, who gathered before a flickering fireplace to swap the stories behind the story of “The Lord of the Rings,” reports CNN.

I’m a Christian, and I really took notice of a lot of the things they mentioned. but the great thing is that Tolkien never preached, but he did teach some really positive things through his work! love it!
Tolkien really lets his Christian worldview shine through his writing and this is partly what makes The Lord of the Rings such great literature. His heroes are packed full with Christian virtues like courage, loyalty, love, forgiveness, repentence, and hope even when all looks hopeless. Sauron tries to use Satan’s weapons of fear, doubt, hatred and darkness to defeat the free peoples of Middle Earth, but it only took one small Hobbit’s self sacrifice and some loyal friend’s devotion and faith to succeed in an impossible quest and win a great battle against evil. And even then, Frodo recognizes that his only true healing from the sufferings of this world lies beyond mortal lands in the Blessed Realm. These elements are what makes the trilogy so appealing to the human heart.
And Tolkien learned them from God’s great Book, the Bible.
