Master of the Rings – UK LotR convention

Over the weekend of 22nd to 24th October, Master of the Rings, a LotR convention, will be held in London, UK. To date, both Craig Parker (Haldir) and Mark Ferguson (Gil Galad) will be attending. Return of the King opens in China

RotK had its premiere in China on Friday 12th March and according to xinhuanet.com the “trilogy has galvanized Chinese audiences in a very special way”. There are some pictures of a cinema publicity poster and a decorated train here.

King reigns in Australia

According to SMH, today should be the day that RotK overtakes Crocodile Dundee (being only $1 million behind it), becoming Australia’s second highest grossing film ever. The top spot, as usual, is held by Titanic, with $58 million, which is $10 million more than RotK and Crocodile Dundee.

New Zealand unveils Oscar party
