Singing in Elvish
The Chicago Children’s Choir are busy learning Elvish for the forthcoming performances in Chicago of Howard Shore’s LotR symphony. Part of their preparation will include about 40 hours of singing practice in Elvish. Josephine Lee, artistic director of the choir said, “Singing in Elvish is similar to singing in Latin”. There are further details of the Chicago performances of the symphony on 8th and 9th October here and details about a pre-show Q & A session and post-show reception with Howard Shore here.

That must be an interesting experience for the children!
That’s so much fun! Two years ago my choir at school sang “May It Be”, and even though I loved singing it, my choir director butchered the Elvish. I was crushed! I’m glad that they are putting more effort into getting it right. I’m sure the end result will be great. =)
That sounds great. If only it was on a weekend, I might be able to go! (Ilive fairly close to Chicago.)
It’s a pity, all the Grelvish (read: Grey Company Elvish) in the article. The author should have done his homework better.
Now why can’t my (fairly competent) college-level choir get to sing part of the LotR symphony? I’m so jealous! The rehersals must be something to talk about!
that’s sounds fun!
wow, that sounds quite promising to say the least.
