Spend a night in Middle-earth

The bfi London IMAX Cinema will be holding a number of ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy viewings this November. The screenings will start in the evening and finish at around 7 am, with a thirty-minute break between each film. Prices range from £10 for one film to £25 for all three films; for more details and dates, see the bfi’s website.

Of Bush, Kerry and Tolkien

Kathleen Parker has an article comparing supporters of United States Sen. Kerry with supporters of President Bush at Townhall, saying that the latter think of The Lord of the Rings as a good parallel of current world events.

McKellen on The Hobbit

In a small snippet at Netscape Celebrity, Ian McKellen comments on the possibility of The Hobbit being made into a film by Peter Jackson now that the expected amalgamation of the studios New Line and MGM (who share the rights to film the book) has not gone ahead.
