Ticket sales for LotR approach $4 million
Tickets for the stage version of the Lord of the Rings went on sale on Sunday and Playbill News report that about 40,000 tickets have been sold to date netting nearly $4 million with about $1 million being generated from online sales. Executive producer Kevin Wallace commented that he was, “…absolutely thrilled. It’s a fantastic response and an affirmation of the worldwide interest in this production.”

I just wanted to point out that you can’t view the Toronto Star online unless you sign up for it. I learned this the hard way about a year ago and now I have a username for the Star. 😉
Whew, I’m glad they sold alot of tickets. Hopefully what happened to New Zealand’s production of the Hobbit won’t happen to this production. I still have to get tickets myself :).
