The Lord of the Rings Exhibition opens at the Indiana State Museum on 6th October at 12:01 am. As a prelude to the exhibition opening the museum’s Imax Theater will be showing all three of the movies (theatrical releases) on 3rd, 4th and 5th October. There’s further information at MuseumExhibits.

Perrott’s Folly, one of the landmarks in Birmingham that served as an inspiration for Tolkien, is due to be renovated. Emergency repairs are currently being made to the tower and these will be followed by a major refurbishment. A 14ft tall model of Treebeard has been stolen from the Womad Festival in the UK. Treebeard was last seen being tied to the roof of a white Ford Escort van but although the police have been alerted he has yet to be found. Artist Andy O’Rourke commented, “It’s really gutting as Treebeard was our pride and joy”. You can read the full story at BBC News.
