Very nice article! Thanks for posting it! 🙂
I loved this: “Our culture is extremely amoral. We must become hobbits. The hobbits are wise and happy because they know and love their limits. God himself became a little hobbit, not a great lord, when he became one of us.”
Thanks so much for this- I found it very thought- provoking and fascinating! And so true! Again, thanks very much 🙂
My older brother introduced me to the LOTR when I was very little. He then became a born again Christian and was conflicted between his love for the trilogy and the high “magic, mystic and mythic” content. Lately, thanks to viewing the films and reading articles such as this one, he has realised that far from being anti-Christian, Tolkien’s works have much to say about individual spiritual growth, regardless of religion. Thank you:-)
OMG! This actually makes sense! lol But seriously, I never realized how all that stuff Tolkien wrote has to do with religion and stuff. Kinda cool…
