Achieve Evenstar Skin, Hair and Aura!

The Elves are known as a race with unlimited beauty. But, with dedication and the helping hands of some beauty products, anybody can be an amazing Arwen or gorgeous Galadriel.

Skin

Have you ever noticed that all Elves have flawless, glowing skin? The key to this is cleanse, tone and moisturise every morning and evening. It needn’t be a chore. Play some calming music and wash your face in a bowl of warm water. DON’T use soap, as this can dry the skin and cause it to over-produce grease. Good products can be found in almost any shop. Tea tree is good for spotty skin, so I suggest using Australian Bodycare Tea Tree Oil Skin Wash from www.australian-bodycare.com.

Alternatively, you could make your own skin wash. This recipe is from http://www.pioneerthinking.com/gfcleanser.html. Take 1/2 cup oatmeal or cornmeal and some plain yogurt, mix together until you have a paste, spread in over your face (avoiding the eye area) and wash off with warm water.

Toning is also important, and refreshes your face. If you have time to make your own products, here is another recipe from http://www.pioneerthinking.com/rosetoner.html, using 3 1/2 cups witch hazel, 1/2 cup dried rose petals and 5 sprigs of fresh rosemary. Mix the ingrediants together, making sure you blend them well, then splash over your face after cleansing.

For the people who haven’t so much time on their hands, I recommend Witch Skin Care Cleansing and Toning Wipes. These can supplement facial wash if you’re in a hurry, though you should use a proper skin wash (or homemade one) at least once a day.

Finally, moisturising is the key to glowing skin. If you’re worried about moisturiser making your skin greasy, go for one especially formulated for oily skin.

However, once or twice a week, real beauty She-Elves can exfoliate. There are plenty of scrubs out in the shops, but people with sensitive skin may want to make their own to be sure of no reaction.

Another fantastic recipe for a facial can be found at http://www.pioneerthinking.com/yogurtwalnutscrub.html. Take 1/4 cup plain yogurt and 1/4 cup very finely grounded walnuts, mix them together, rub gently into your skin (again, avoiding the eyes) and wash off with warm water. I would suggest doing this BEFORE cleansing.

Hair

Elves like Galadriel and Arwen always have show-stopping, wavy, silky hair. Whether you have black, blonde, brunette or red hair, this can be achieved. Most people know their preferences for shampoos, whether using ones for greasy hair, dry hair, dandruff, colour enhancement etc. A good shampoo should leave your hair feeling fresh and clean. If your hair is still greasy after washing, repeating the washing process may be advisable.

For a real silky finish, use a good-quality conditioner. This doesn’t have to be expensive. Sunsilk have a great range of products, including an ingenious conditioner for greasy hair.

There is also a homemade option at http://www.pioneerthinking.com/conditioner2.html. This one is really easy! All you need is 1/2 cup REAL mayonnaise, then you comb in through your hair, wrap your hair up in a shower-cap or towel, and wait for 20 minutes before shampooing out. DON’T use salad dressing as it will dry your hair out!

If your hair isn’t naturally wavy but you want softly tumbling curls, heated curlers are the best option though BE CAREFUL AND READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. I have quite wavy but unruly hair, so I use Carmen Girls Angel Curls which is a barrell-shaped heated appliance. There are plenty others on the market.

You don’t have to be a millionaire to get Elvish locks. If you want perfect results, get your hair trimmed every 6 weeks. If you let a family member or friend do it, make sure they know what they are doing to avoid hair disasters!

Make-up

If you can’t go out without some form of cosmetics on, or you want to dress up for an evening out, then learn that LESS IS MORE. If you have been following a beauty regime, then your skin should be in good condition and not need too much. If, however, you still need to cover up, here’s how to do it.

Start from the base. If you have any last minute spots that won’t go down, use concealer. Rimmel Hide the Blemish Cover Stick is my personal favourite. Place a little on the spot with a brush or a clean finger, and blend around the outsides to create a natural finish. If you need all over cover, try a foundation. Stick foundations are easiest to apply. To check concealers and foundations match your skin tone, apply to your face and check in both natural and inside light. A good match should almost disappear on your face. If you don’t want anything so heavy, try a tinted moisturiser.

For great tips on what suits YOU, try www.makeoversolutions.com. You can upload your own picture onto this FREE, QUICK programme or use a model, and check which colours suit you. The brands include CoverGirl, Maybelline, Revlon, Rimmel and many more for your to choose from.

Remember to wash your make-up at the end of the day!

Fitness

To get feeling great and rosy cheeks, exercise is the best option. Ideally, everybody should do at least 60 minutes of moderate exercise a day. If you can’t grab your bow and arrow, or go running in the snow without leaving so much as a footprint, there are still plenty of ways to get fit!

Music is the best way to get in shape. Have fun and dance around your bedroom! Make sure you gently stretch, then put in plenty of high-kicks, step-ups, air-punches and energetic moves to get your heart racing.

If you’ve got housework to do, incorporate vacuuming, dusting and mopping into your exercise plan. Again, play some music and use the chores as an excuse to lunge, reach and improve your stamina.

Swimming is also very good for toning the whole body. If you are a swimming enthusiast, challenge yourself to do 50 lengths. If you find that boring, then invite your friends to your local pool and have fun races and silly competitions. If you can’t swim, then set yourself the target of learning.

Remember girls – exercise releases a hormone into your body which makes you happier!

Eating Well

As well as exercise, diet plays a huge part in looking like an Elven Princess. And it doesn’t include a diet of just lembas!

Everybody should eat breakfast every day, as it boosts your metabolism (which makes you burn more fat). Some great, healthy ideas are wholewheat bread or toast with peanut butter, muesli with fresh milk, a breakfast bar (a healthy one) and orange juice, or some fruit and low-fat yogurt.

The basis of a healthy diet are in eating a balanced diet. Try to eat plenty of protein (found in fish, meat, cheese, milk, eggs and beans). You also need carbohydrates (found in bread, pasta and cereals) and a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables.

In the UK, the government has started the Five-A-Day programme, though this can be used in any country in the world. The general meaning is that everybody should have at least 5 portions of fruit and vegetables a day. One portion of fruit is equal to half a large grape fruit, a slice of melon or two satsumas. Fruit juice counts as one portion, though lacks fibre and should therefore only count as one portion per day. Vegetable portions are such as 3 tablespoons of cooked carrots, peas or sweetcorn or 1 cereal bowl of mixed salad.

And finally, for that Elvish aura…

If you want to look truly like an Elf, it doesn’t matter whether you have clear skin, silky hair and a size 10 figure. Looking good and feeling great come with exercise, a good diet and good moods.

Be kind to everyone, and help people. Remember, if you help one person, they will return that kindness to you. Try and bring your family, friends or community together.

To look confident and kind, even when you don’t feel like being nice, remember these tips:

  • Keep your posture good. Your back should always be straight. When walking, keep your head up and place your feet almost directly in front of each other. This makes you look more confident. Place your arms at your sides. Body language can convey a lot. If you fold your arms, people will see it as a barrier, if only subconsiously. If you fiddle with your thumbs, you appear nervous.

  • Breathe calmly and deeply. Practise counting to ten in your head and breathe slowly. Inhale through your nose, filling your lungs from the bottom, then gently let go of the air through your mouth.

  • Smile! If you smile at somebody, they feel happier and will probably give you a smile back.

If you’ve followed all these steps, you’ll be happier, healthier, and radiate beauty just like an Elf!

    Elven Feet

Do you want to have nice soft feet? Feet that are nice to look at, elegant in some way. Feet that elves could have? Here is written how you can have those in just 7 phases.

Phase 1 – Remove Nail Polish

Remove nail polish with a nail polish remover without acetone. (Acetone makes the nails yellow and it weakens them.

    Phase 2 – Scrubbing

Scrub your feet with a special foot-scrub-gel. A foot-scrub-gel contains harder “stones” then a body-scrub-gel. The stones in the foot-scrub-gel are more effective against callus. A scrub is more milder for your feet then a pumice stone or an callus scraper.

    Phase 3 – Bathing

Put your feet in a bowl with lukewarm water for 10 to 15 minutes. Add a few drops of almond oil which makes your feel nice soft. When you are finished dry your feet very carefully also between the toes.

    Phase 4 – Filing

Many people still cut their toenails when pedicures strongly advise to file the nails. This can best be done with a file made out of glass. Your toenails then get a nice, equal form and won’t get damaged easily.

    Phase 5 – Push Back

Put special cuticle remover on the cuticles and the skin of your nails. Massage the oil in and then carefully push the cuticles back. Be aware! The cuticles may never be cut. They protect your nails and are very fragile. Do not push then back to far that can cause an ignition.

    Phase 6 – Massage

You spoil weary feet with a nice massage. You can use a feet crème or mix the juice of a citron with two spoons of olive oil and two spoons of sea salt. This is good for a soft, flexible skin and perfectly clean feet. Don’t only massage your feet but also your ankles. Embrace your feet one by one with your hands to simulate the blood circulation.

Phase 7 – Polish Your Nails

Make sure that your feet are clean and dry. Always bring a base with polish on your nails before you give them a colour. Try not to paint very close to the cuticle. Start painting in the middle of the nail. Then paint the sides. Remove little parts of nail polish on you skin with a piece of cotton wool which has a bit of nail polish remover on it. Bring in the end a protecting finishing layer on your nail which gives it an extra gloss. You can then as finishing touch wear a feet bracelet. Now your feet will be just as elegant as the elves feet.

    French Pedicure …

The French manicure (white border combined with a light pink polish.) isn’t only for your hands. French pedicure is even easier then your painting your fingernails. It gives a nice look and the polish stays a long time. Don’t make the border to broad. Toe nails should be short and broad borders makes the nails long.
