"Pippin saw his carven face with its proud bones and skin like ivory, and the long curved nose between the dark deep eyes; and he was reminded not so much of Boromir as of Aragorn."
That doesn’t mean it won’t be available in 2D, though, or does it? 3D is so uncomfortable to watch for me :/

I’m going to be the optimistic one and say that I actually like 3D. 🙂
It should still be available in 2D.

Being available in 3D doesn’t mean it will be only in 3D.A 2D version will also be available (as it will most probably cash-in more than 3D)
… plus, shooting with a RED camera will allow the filmmakers to quickly shoot through scenes and avoid complex setups and alot of wasted time …

Oh gods, no…no 3D! I was hoping PJ wouldn’t join the brainwash club. x_x I really don’t think the Hobbit is meant for 3D any more than I’d appreciate LotR in 3D…which I REALLY would not have. Ugh! If this is supposed to become a classic like I heard they wanted LotR to become, then why must they film in anything other than classic mode? Murgh.

The Hobbit will still be a classic regardless of whether it will be filmed in 2D or not. Personally, I don’t mind 3D, but I prefer not to watch it because it costs extra money.
I don’t think it’s anything to get worked up about–EVERY 3D movie I’ve seen has had a 2D counterpart–I’m certain that this one won’t be any different.
My eyes can’t handle 3D. the colors don’t mix when i look through the glasses. Weird but true.

I suspect that PJ and team jumped on the 3D bandwagon in order to ensure that The Hobbit survives longer in the market. If 3D is the wave of the future, it makes sense from a business standpoint to join the phenomenon. It’s still PJ directing, and this is still our beloved Hobbit. I’m not worried. 🙂

Urgh, 3D’s so annoying.
But as long as it’s available in 2D I won’t really mind.

As long as I have the choice of viewing it in 2D I guess I really don’t care.

I really don’t see what’s wrong with 3-D… of course I’ve only been to see a movie a few times… all of which were in 3-D. It’s cool, I think! 😀
Sure, it costs more, but if you’re that worried about it, why not just wait until the movie comes out? it costs less. :p
