Latin: from Wales. Sindarin: (from friendly land) Ondorvilui; (from land of the people) Ondorewaith

Obviously there is no Sindarin name for ‘Wales’, but a tentative translation of ‘Cymru’, the Welsh name for their country, would be MELLON, since ‘Cymru’ in origin was said to mean ‘friend’ or ‘people’. ‘Wales’ is actually derived from an Anglo-Saxon word meaning ‘foreigner’ or ‘stranger’, and we’ve chosen to go with the translation of the Welsh name for Wales.
