Meaning ‘laurel’, in the sense of the laurel crowns given to the victors in ancient Greek tradition. Since no Old English word exists for ‘laurel’ two possible translations are Sigorléan, ‘reward of victory’, and Sigebéam, ‘tree of victory’.
