Dirhavel was a singer and a poet who lived near Elwing and Eärendil at the Mouths of Sirion. He wrote the Narn i Hîn Húrin, "The Tale of the Children of Húrin" and was slain in battle when the remaining sons of Fëanor came to reclaim the Simaril which Elwing had in her possession.
