The Doors of Durin stood at the western entrance to the Mines of Moria. They were made by Narvi in the Second Age, and Celebrimbor worked signs over the doors in ithildin which meant that they could be opened only by speaking a single word, 'mellon' - the Elvish for 'friend'.
