Tuor was the father of Eärendil and the grandfather of Elrond and Elros. It was said that he favored an axe over a sword, and he called his axe Dramborleg, which meant 'Thudder-Sharp' in the language of the Elves of Gondolin.

We can speculate that Tuor used Dramborleg at the Fall of Gondolin, but it escaped the destruction of that city.

Tuor's descendants took it to Númenor and used it as an heirloom. It survived through most of the Second Age, but was at last destroyed in the Downfall of Númenor.
