The Greenhands were a family of Shire-hobbits descended from Holman the Greenhanded of Hobbiton, through his son Halfred Greenhand.
The Greenhands later left Hobbiton and founded their own settlement of Greenholm. Fastred of Greenholm, who later wedded Elanor Gamgee in the early part of the Fourth Age, was of this family.
