The Dome of Varda, or the Lesser Firmament, the dome of stars that Varda made above Valinor to keep away Melkor’s spies and spirits. It was a simulacrum of the true firmament (Tar-menel), the patterns therein were repeated but the apparent stars appeared relatively larger in size to the total visible area, so Nur-menel appeared very bright.
