One of the five regions that made up Rohan, along with East Emnet, the Wold, the Westfold and the Eastfold.

West Emnet (Westemnet to some), consisted mainly of flat grassy plainlands all the way from its northern border at Fangorn south to the Westfold. However, there were some areas of fens along the Entwash, the boundary between West Emnet and East Emnet.

It was the main grazing land for the horses of the Rohirrim, and it was the first area east of the Anduin to see battle in the War of the Ring. These initial battles were fought between the Rohirrim and the forces of Orcs and Dunlendings under the direction of Saruman.
