A mother's lament by Saelwen_Silivren
Where have you gone
my young blackhaired boy
war and strife have
swallowed you whole
with naught to show
but absent echoes
and memories of joy
all swallowed by Sauron
Where have you gone

war and strife have
swallowed you whole
with naught to show
but absent echoes
and memories of joy

Thanks for the review on mah poem… I only thought it polite to return the favor. 🙂 Nice job… it’s a little short, but there’s nothing wrong with short. I really like the “absent echoes” part – it’s an interest concept and the words fit really well together when you read it. Lovely! My only bit of advice would be to modify the last line… it seems sort of blunt and not as image-ful as the rest of the poem. But then again, who am I to say what’s right or wrong? Keep writing!
