Sam was sitting on a chair that was pulled up next to Frodo’s bedside. The light of the autumn sun shown on Frodo’s face. Sam saw peace flood back to the face of his master, and he smiled wryly, still wondering if Frodo was going to wake up at all.

Frodo had been sleeping for three days since the ringwraiths tried to take him to Mordor and Sam and everyone else had been worried sick of what had become of their friend.
Gandalf sat on the other side of the bed, smoking a pipe, waiting for Frodo to wake as well.
“Sam,” he said, Sam looked away from Frodo to meet the wizard’s eyes. “why don’t you go lay down for a while. You haven’t slept or eatin for three days, which is unlikely for a hobbit.”
“But, what if he wakes up while I’m gone?” he asked solumnly.
“I’ll send someone to get you.” said the wizard.
Sam wasn’t convinced but stood up, stretched and left the room with a sigh.

He went down a long hallway and at the other end found Frodo’s cousins waiting anxiously for news of their relative. They jumped up when they saw Sam walking toward them.
“So, did anything happen yet?” Merry asked half excited, half frightened.
“No.” Sam replied
“Not even a stir?” Pippin asked. Sam shook his head, no.
“Gandalf told me to get some rest and something to eat.” Sam said. “So I don’t know what’s going on now.”
“Well, he’s certainly right.” Merry said. “You’re a mess.” Sam was. He had bags under his eyes and he looked skinnier then he was before.
Strider just then walked up to them from a different hallway.
“Would you like to go to you’re bed Sam?” he asked.
“Yes I would thank you.” he replied. Strider started walking down the hallway he came from and Sam followed him. Merry and Pippin stayed behind and sat back down where they were before Sam walked out of Frodo’s room.

After passing some hallways and rooms, Strider showed Sam his room. When Strider turned to leave, Sam said thank you and closed the door to get some sleep.
Strider was surprised since he knew that Sam
had some trouble trusting him. He turned his head but found the door closed, then he walked where an elvish woman was standing and disappered into
the trees of Rivendell.
