Arwen's Lament by IthilielCuivienien
Here I stand on the ocean’s side,
The roaring sea so far and wide
Streches out far into the west.
Here I lay down my head to rest
For a while, as long I’m so deep
In sorrow; I can only weep.
What ship will now come for me,
To bear me over the sea?
Here I am bound, I cannot leave.
I have to stay and watch fate weave
My doom. But I have made my choice,
There’s no turning back now. My voice
Carries my lament over sea
To that far place where I can’t be.
Now lost, lost to me is Valinor,
I have to stay here forevermore.
My fate is sundered from my kin,
My eyes are slowly turning dim.
Now he is dead and I am all
Alone. This Evenstar will fall
Into darkness and leave this world,
Amid the trees, branches unfurled.
No ship will now come for me,
To bear me over the sea.
