The waves do roll, the ship does toss,
The clouds above warn us not to cross,
The line which we have long observed,
Invisible to eye, yet soul disturbs,
The peace that tells us we are right,
Our honest heart begins to fight.
The star shines on but not for us,
The road ahead is closed.

Yet still we try, and hope in vain,
That we will be the one,
Who looks upon the distant shore,
And lands without alarm,
The one who wanders through the land,
Of beauty far and wide,
And live our days in blessedness,
In the land that never dies.
