Prologue

“Let go of me!” Screamed Aerlennia as a big Orc pulled her deeper into the dark woods. Her eyes full of tears she kicked and screamed as he moved carelessly through the forest. Her screams echoed in the valleys as she was pulled away from Rivendell and towards The Tower of Cirith Ungol.

Healing a mortal
Chapter 1
A young boy staggered forward, his face racked with pain. A slash through his leg made walking difficult, and a even large slash from his shoulder to his chest made it no easier. His ribs ached from a dagger that sat inflicting the wound with poison as he tried hard to go forward. His beautiful white dog ran swiftly by his side, she occasionally looked up at her injured master to see if he knew the way he was going.
The sun filtered through the trees as the leaves of mid summer shifted in the breeze. Each time the wind blew through near the boy his eyes watered in pain and he stopped feeling he could go no further.
His blonde hair was not long and was cut carelessly. He was thin from lack of food he had lost his horse, which had been carrying his food about three days before. He and his dog, Keesha, had been attacked by orcs and were trying to get back to Minas Tirith after visiting some friends in the shire.
The boys name was Arnon. He was only fifteen and had been with friends that had been killed in the attack his horse had run away after bucking him off.
He knew not were he was going now, he was trying to find a town that might heal him of his injuries. He had no idea that he had been poisoned and if he did not get help soon he would die.
Keesha looked fearfully at her thin and worn master pulling at his ripped sleeve with her teeth she tried to get him to go faster. She knew what was wrong but she found she was not helping. The boy forced a smile down at her and kept going. She wagged her long brushy tail happy to see her master smile.
Rivendell was only six days away but the boy had no idea.
He felt his head spinning as he staggered forward clutching his head with his right arm. Keesha saw Arnon was not well enough to travel anymore. She tried eagerly to stop him, but he pushed her head aside and limped forward unevenly.
Suddenly all his vision went totally black, he was unconscious lying face down on the dirt road, right in the middle.
Keesha grabbed the back of his tunic and pulled him into the shade of the trees. She curled her body around him to keep him warm. The sun was setting and she knew that if she could not keep him warm he would die. She licked his face trying to awake him but found it useless. She curled her body around his and fell into an uneasy sleep. During the night she was awaken many times, sometimes by owls hooting then flying low to her to see what kind of animal she was. Keesha was tempted at times to pounce on the owl, she was so hungry. But she knew that she must not leave. She again fell asleep the moon shining off her soft white fur.
The next morning she awoke, Arnon was still unconscious and his face was pale, she tried brushing her soft fur against his face but it helped none. He lay in the shade not moving.
The sun shone through the trees again on his face, dewdrops fell onto Keesha’s fur as she tried to cover the boy’s body. It chilled her to the bone to do so but she knew it would not help for him to get anymore wet than he already was. She lapped a puddle of water near by and shook furiously as drops of dew splattered on her head. The sun arose then disappeared as dark luminous clouds formed overhead. She looked up sadly then turned sight back to Arnon.
Rain drops came from the sky as the tree over the two travelers partially shaded them from the storm. Trees swayed in the wind as Keesha hugged closer and closer to Arnon. He was not awake but she could feel him shivering as the cold drops came down from the ominous sky, just then a bolt of lightening zapped the tree next to them, singing the fur on Keesha’s bushy tail. She did not know what to do. All alone in the middle of a forest, she could not abandon her master, not now. Arnon shivered in the freezing cold. He is going to get ill if someone does not come soon. She thought as she cuddled closer to him.
As she was cuddled close to him, two white horses came forward through the forest. Such magnificent beasts could not be evil. They seemed to shine like the moon, their manes flowing white and their reigns and bridles embedded with jewels of emerald and sapphire. On then were two riders who were quite tall and seemed as beautiful as the horses. They were robed in white robes that had gold embedded ivy leaves. She starred in awe at the two figures. The jumped off Arnon and barked at them. They stopped and looked down at her, she ran to Arnon’s side and grabbed his sleeve and tugged. The two looked down skeptically and then hurriedly ran towards the boy. One listened for breathing and the other took his pulse. The one with long flowing gold hair picked him up carefully and quickly then set him on one of the horses. The other picked up Keesha and set her on the horse. They both got on and rode off quickly forward, hoping and praying, that the boy would make it.
Arnon felt his head being gently lifted and something cold and refreshing being poured down his dry throat. His head was back on the pillow and a cool hand was on his brow. He heard a growl in protest from Keesha, and then something else happened, a needle poked his leg. It felt as if his wounded leg was being sewn back together. He heard more protesting from Keesha then without anymore knowledge fell back asleep the sound of water splashing outside.
Arnon awoke again the next day, his leg hurt, his head hurt, it felt as if everything ached. He felt quite dizzy and the room seemed to spin, he laid his head back on the pillow and looked up at the beautiful carved ceiling, he saw behind him a bed with a very odd but beautiful head board.
When the room had stopped spinning he tried to lift his head to see if anyone was around but he was still too weak, his head fell back down on the pillow.
Keesha had seen him moving around in the bed and stood up on the bed and walked over to his face, she licked happily at his face. He lifted a hand weakly and petted her soft white fur. She lay down and kept licking his face for a while then stopped and turned her attention to the door.
The doorknob turned gently and quietly, then a very tall and wise seeming man stepped in. He had dark brown hair that on one side only a lock was braded and all the rest hung loose. His robe was of blue and gold embroidered leaves rimmed the edge of his outfit, his sleeves were long and open.
He walked in smiling at Arnon, then he walked over to him and set a cool hand on Arnon’s brow. The boy closed his eyes, it felt so good to his feverish head.
A look of concern came over the elf’s fair face. He wet a cloth with cool water and set it on the boy’s head. Arnon lay back in peace his wounds did not even hurt any longer. He let out a sigh of relief as Elrond sat down on the edge of the bed.
“What is your name lad?” Elrond said kindly to the boy. “Arnon.” the boy said opening his eyes. Elrond saw tears form in his beautiful green eyes. “My friends were killed on the way home from the Shire.” He said wiping his eyes so Elrond would not see the tears.
Elrond patted the boy on the shoulder. “Well I am glad you made it.” Elrond said smiling and then getting up. “Arnon, you rest. I will come back later.”
“Alright.” Arnon said half frowning but then realizing that his body ached again he laid back on the pillow and tried to fall asleep. He looked once more at the detail of the room. It was brilliantly furnished with a white upholstered couch. The floor was marble looking and there were carved vines and leaves in the wood on the planks above. A bedside table held a glass of water and a bowl with cloths in it.
He yawned slightly and then he thought of nothing more for he was sleeping. His chest rose and fell softly as he slept through the day and a lot of the night.
Elrond came in to check on him often even when he was asleep. He would change the linen on his wounds and then he would bring in food for Keesha, who still sat by her master.
Glorfindel would occasionally visit Elrond when he was tending Arnon’s wounds. Today Elrond was watching over the boy while reading a book. Glorfindel opened the door and walked in cautiously. Elrond looked up from his book to great his friend.
“Hello Glorfindel,” He said getting up and shaking hands with Glorfindel. “What are you doing here?” “I was coming to check on the boy.” Glorfindel looked worriedly at Elrond. “He is doing better.” Elrond said reassuring his friend with a smile. “He has been sleeping all day and I have barely had to do anything.” Elrond said walking over to the bed side. “While he is sleeping may I see the wounds?” Glorfindel asked looking at Elrond. “Yes, of course Glorfindel.” Elrond said pulling down the covers off the boy. “His linens will need changed anyway.” Elrond started with the leg. “He pulled off the bandage around his leg and put the bandage in a bag. Then he took a new one and started to wrap it. “Poor boy, he is only fifteen.” Glorfindel sighed. “I mean the only reason he survived was the dog. He would have died a long time ago if it were not for that dog. We would have passed him.” Glorfindel said in a reminiscing tone. “Well thanks to you, Isolanin told me you made them stop after the dog barked.” Elrond continued at his work. “Well yes but I did not expect that a boy would be lying on the die of the rode.” Glorfindel said as he looked at the hole where the dagger had been two days ago. “Has he walked yet?” Glorfindel looked up at Elrond. “No.” said Elrond worriedly. “He tried once but I barely had to do anything, he was so weak he could not lift his head. Blood loss I suppose.” Elrond walked to the other side of the bed towards the gash. It ran from his shoulder to his hip, it was bloody but was only like a scratch from the bottom rib down to the hip. For this Elrond was thankful.
“Oh Elrond, I miss Aerlennia” Glorfindel sat down on the bed as a tear trickled down his soft cheek and landed on a strand of golden hair.
“Do not fear my friend. I have summoned a council and soon the members will arrive. One of them will find her and bring her back here.” Elrond sat near his depressed friend and hugged him gently. Glorfindel sat up straight. “You are right.” He said as Elrond wiped the lonely tear away and smiled.
“Now will you help me sit Arnon up so I may wrap his wounds?” Elrond asked patting Glorfindel on the back. “Of course.” Glorfindel scooted over to Arnon’s side and held him in a sitting position.
Elrond was wrapping the binded the wound. Then with Glorfindel’s help he gave Arnon some medicine and layed the boy back down to sleep. “And if we can heal this boy of his hurts, we could heal any that your daughter may get.” Elrond clapped Glorfindel on the shoulder and looked at Arnon. The boy lay peacefully breathing. The sun was setting as the two friends sat down on the couch to keep watch over Arnon, since neither had much more to do.
Both sat and ate dinner in Arnon’s room while talking about things and laughing merrily about things that had happened in the past.
“Then remember that one time when we tried to go hunting in the forest, and we took Elladan and Ellrohir. They shot you in the foot.” Elrond laughed as he put some more of the fruit in his mouth. “That was not funny and you know it.” Glorfindel could not help laughing. Seeing the joy in his friends eyes he could not resist. “You are laughing.” Elrond pointed out.
They did not notice that Arnon was awake and listening to them converse.
Elrond turned his eyes to the boy and said aloud: “Oh Glorfindel, our patient is awake.” Elrond said as he got up from the couch and walked over to the bedside. Glorfindel got up and went by his friend. “How are you feeling?” Elrond asked feeling the boys head.
“Your fever has gone down. That is good.” he removed his hand and sat down on the bed.
“My sides and stomach aches.” He explained as he frowned. “But I feel better than I did this morning.” He smiled a little at the two elves.
He shifted in the bed a little then looked at Glorfindel with a pondering look.
“Who is he?” Arnon asked Elrond shifting his eyes back to Elrond. “Oh, this is the one you should thank for finding you. Arnon this is my right hand man Glorfindel.” Elrond patted Glorfindel on his broad shoulder. “Well thank you for rescuing me Glorfindel.” Arnon extended a shaky hand and Glorfindel shook gently with the boy.
“Are you hungry Arnon?” Elrond asked politely. “Oh yes! Very!” Arnon said excitedly. “Good Glorfindel!” Glorfindel rose to attention. “Would you go tell Arwen that our guest is hungry.” Elrond looked at Glorfindel and then whispered a Thank You. Glorfindel saluted and then walked out the door and went down the long hall to the stairs.

Aerlennia struggled, the orc was dragging her towards a light in the forest. A burning light, she knew that it was a bad sign. She kicked all she could but nothing worked the orc kept a firm grip on her wrist.
The orc was growing impatient with his prisoner and wanted nothing more than to club her over the head, but strict orders kept him from so. He trudged on through the thick grasses and trees, his grasp getting tighter and tighter.

Back t Rivendell Arnon was finishing s wonderful meal of fruits and soup. It tasted so good, he had not eaten a real meal in weeks. He had had a meager meal now and again till his horse had run off. Glorfindel, Elrond, and Arwen watched as he ate the meal so quickly it seemed to flash before their eyes.
“Slow down there.” Glorfindel cautioned. “Don’t get yourself sick now” Arwen seemed worried.
When Arnon had finished the three sat down and talked with the boy. He stared in amazement at the beautiful and fair elves.
“So what happened? How did I come to get here?” Arnon looked at Glorfindel as he asked. “Well we were coming back from our travels, when a dog barked. She was a pure white and soaked to the bone with rain. She went back and dragged you out for us to see. You were barely breathing and you where very cold. Pale and shivering. I set you on my horse and my friend set the dog on his horse, I rode faster than him to Rivendell. I got there just in time, Elrond drained the poison out of your body and kept us on guard. We watched over you and obviously we still are.” Glorfindel finished then smiled at the boy.
“I was poisoned.” The boy looked a little concerned. “Yes, but have no fear it is all gone now.” Elrond patted Arnon’s hand gently.
“Now, I believe we have a right to know your story.” Elrond said looking to Arnon, “Well, alright.” he said looking down at his sheets tears filling his clear eyes.
He let out a long deep sigh. “Well you see, we have some friends in the Shire and we visit them every year. This year we went and on our way back we were attacked by orcs. The orcs . . . They . . ..” Arnon sobbed not able to say anymore. His head in his knees sobbing pitifully. Elrond sat closer to the boy his eyes full of sympathy. He pulled the boy close and hugged him, and rocking him gently and whispering softly in his ear. “Shhhh. It is alright. Do not cry.” Elrond rubbed his back and gently brushed his hand through Arnon’s soft blonde hair. “You are alright.” Elrond reassured him.
The boy spoke slowly and tried as hard as he could not to cry in front of such fair people, or elves I should say. “They killed my best friend, Sae.” Tears trickled down his cheeks as he spoke. “Sae?” Elrond questioned wiping the tears from Arnon’s pale cheeks. “Yes, he was about sixteen. He had long curly black hair and he was very strong. He rode a horse named culanodria, she was chestnut colored with a white spot on her back. I never got to say goodbye. He tried to protect me. He saw I had been slashed from shoulder to hip and he tried to fend off the orcs, but he was stabbed through the heart, he fell instantly dead.” Arnon’s head was bowed and tears dripped from his chin as he nuzzled his face in Elrond’s robes. Elrond held the boy’s head gently and stroked his hair. “Sounds to me like he did save you.” Elrond said patting his back. “What do you mean?” Arnon asked bringing his face away from the robes and wiping his eyes.
“Well he was a great enough friend to risk and lose his own life in order to save yours.” Elrond grinned and caressed the boy’s hair. “If he was slain how did you live?” Glorfindel asked while sitting on the floor. “I laid down like I was dead, and waited for the orcs to pass. One accidentally dropped his dagger in my ribs. I stifled back my tears and scream and stayed the way I was for a long time. Then I felt wet licks on my face. It was Keesha. She was trying to wake me up. When I awoke I noticed that I lay in a pile with the others and it was catching on fire. I struggled to get out and in the process got the gash on my leg. Then I got here.” He finished tears still in his eyes and his voice horse. “Thank you Arnon. You are very brave despite your young age.” Elrond said hugging the boy then getting up. Elrond got up and motioned to Glorfindel to follow him over to the table near the window that held all the medical supplies.
Arwen went over to the boy’s bedside and comforted him by rubbing her soft hands through his hair and whispering in elvish. Somehow the boy seemed to understand as she spoke. She covered him with the blankets as he lay down gently to sleep, he felt tired all the sudden and his problems faded away as his mind became clear. His head no longer hurt and neither did any of his other wounds. Arnon fell into a peaceful slumber as Arwen stoked her hands through his short golden hair.
Elrond and Glorfindel spoke quietly at the table. “He needs to go home. Only his family can help him.” Elrond said turning his glance to Arwen who was still sitting by the boy. “What if he is a orphan?” Glorfindel asked furious at his friend’s decision. Elrond groaned and looked sympathetically at Glorfindel. “Alright! He may stay here until he is completely healed.
Arwen stood up and walked over to her father and his friend. “Should he not take a proper dose of medicine for the night?” Arwen asked smiling gently.
Elrond opened a cupboard and took out some medicines then mixed them and gave the flask to his daughter. “Be gentle.” He said smiling.
She took the small cup and gently lifted Arnon’s head then let the syrupy drink fall from the flask to his open mouth. She gave Elrond back the cup and walked off to go get dinner ready. He looked happily at her and she smiled gliding off into the hall.
“Elrond, She is beautiful. I often wonder what elf prince she will marry.” Glorfindel sighed. “Yes so do I.” Elrond frowned then walked away to the door and then turned back to Glorfindel. “You watch him first. Come get me in a few hours.” Elrond said as he shut the door behind him. “Yes Sir!” Glorfindel muttered as the door slammed shut. He sat down and picked up the book that Elrond was reading. He smiled at the stories as he read on, he even occasionally let out a laugh and smiled broadly. When he had finished the book he stood up and stretched. It looked as if it was around two in the morning. He looked at the bed.
Arnon’s chest rose and fell slowly as he slept. A peaceful smile on his face and his hand on Keesha as if he had been stroking her fur earlier. The dog lie looking strangely at Glorfindel. “What?” He said to the dog his hands on his hips. Keesha looked away quickly and acted as if she had not been looking at him. He smiled and went over to the Arnon’s side, his breathing was normal, pulse was normal, he had only a small fever. Glorfindel stood up and walked to the door, he opened it and walked down the long hall, he looked upon the walls as he passed. A beautiful tapestry was along the wall. It showed all of Middle-Earth, it had beautiful colors and was completely correct. He looked sadly upon it as his eyes shifted to Mordor. He looked with anger at the land of shadow. Finally his eyes looked down the hall and saw Elrond was watching him.
“Have you not noticed that tapestry before my friend?” He said smiling as he drew closer, his night robes flowing. “I have, I just never realized how big Middle- Earth really is.” he said with a sigh and placed his hand on the tapestry. Elrond put an arm around his distressed friend. “I know, we will find her.” Elrond said looking into Glorfindel’s eyes.
“Elrond, face it. She is gone.” Glorfindel shouted. “My friend have faith, soon she will be home and sitting your arms as you sing to her.” Elrond rubbed Glorfindel’s tense back. Glorfindel sighed as he calmed down, his forehead against the tapestry and strands of his hair in his face.
“I will go and watch the boy now. You get some rest.” Elrond patted Glorfindel and walked towards the door. Glorfindel made his way down the hall and the stairs. He went into his room and went to sleep, the sound of the roaring waterfall echoing in his ears.
Elrond sat sleepily reading his book. He found that his marker had been moved so he assumed that Glorfindel had been reading. Elrond decided he would guess and start somewhere in the middle.
He looked at Arnon before he started reading. He then remembered when his children had been fifteen. It had been a very long time since then and he missed reading his children stories of knights to his daughter and stories of dragons to his sons. He looked back to the red covered book and lifted it more to the light in his hands. Then he began reading aloud to the boy even though he was asleep it made Elrond feel good to read aloud to a child again.
Elrond yawned gently as he lowered the book away from the light of the flickering candle. His eyes were tired and he was quite comfortable on the small couch. He layed his head back thinking he would only rest his eyes a moment then he fell asleep as the moon shone brightly over the reflecting water as the water fall roared.
In the morning Elrond awoke and found that a blanket lay over him and his feet were on the soft white couch. He stretched and got of the couch to see that Arnon was gone, his bed was made cleanly and no dog hair lay on it. All the room was clean and all the herbs lay in a basket under a table.
Elrond got up and looked out the window. Below he saw a small boy and a white dog both laying in the soft green grass. Elrond was stunned to see the boy all alone out on the grass with his dog. He quickly went out the door and down the stairs. He saw Glorfindel was still in bed because his door was closed and he heard no noise from inside. He went through the corridor till he came to a door. He went onto the balcony.
It was warm and clear outside. White clouds seemed to move swiftly through the gentle warm breeze as the morning sun drifted higher into the big blue cloud littered sky. His shadow was right beneath him as he walked his gentle kind eyes fixed on the grassy area where he had seen the Arnon and Keesha.
The flowers were in bloom and they made the ground look like confetti, all the beautiful colors made Elrond happy as he saw the boy below. Arnon’s eyes were closed and he was smiling as Keesha went behind a fir tree. He thought it odd behavior. Arnon got up and looked around, he limped over to the fir tree that Keesha had run behind, but Elrond saw the boy come to the other side without joy. Only a look of concentration. He watched then he noticed that Arnon looked up, he smiled and placed a hand over his eyes and Elrond looked up to see what he was looking at.
Almost half way up the gigantic tree Keesha clung to the tree panting as if she was hot but she looked happy. Arnon gave her a look of annoyance. Then yelled cupping his hands around his mouth. “Keesha you old trickster! You know that is not rational. I can not climb up there. Not while I am wounded, and you are a far better climber anyway.”
Keesha barked and climbed quickly down the tree leaping down a few feet from the ground and shaking old pine needles from her white coat. Arnon embraced Keesha and patted her head then quickly as he could got up and picked up a small stick. Her threw the stick: “Go get it girl.” he said signaling for her to run after the stick.
She jetted off with amazing speed then picked up the stick and trotted back head held high to her waiting master. He ruffled her coat then threw it again. She did not run after it this time but noticed Elrond up on the balcony and ran to him and with a great leap knocked him over to the ground. “Oof.” He said as her groaned. Then he rubbed the dogs head, she licked him back on the face.
Arnon wobbled up to Elrond and dragged Keesha from the elf. “Sorry Lord. I did not know she was so fond of you.” Arnon extended a hand down to Elrond to help him up. “Thank You.” Elrond wiped the dog slobber from his mouth.
“Feeling better I see.” Elrond smiled. “Except for the fact that my leg and the gash in my shoulder ache.” Arnon said as he rubbed his shoulder. “Well let’s go back and get something on those.” Elrond said as he escorted Arnon back to the room. “Oh lets stop at the kitchen and get your dog some food.” Elrond said turning their course.
Keesha jumped and made a whimpering sound then she barked. “Alright! Alright!” Elrond said laying a hand over his ear. “No need to make me go deaf now.” “Sorry sir.” Arnon said bowing his head then glaring at Keesha. Her tail dropped and she made a whining sound.
When they got to the kitchen Keesha’s tail went up again, she watched the elf lord mix different things into one bowl. He mumbled to himself: “Hmm, Meat, herbs, water. What was the other ingredient? Oh yes Milk.” Elrond clapped his hands as he drew closer to the counter and opened a cupboard. He poured some milk in the bowl and stirred quickly. Then he took the bowl and motioned to the two to walk up the stairs, ” I am coming.” Elrond said as they looked at him then looked back up the stairs. “Come on Keesha.” Arnon let out a sigh.
He looked grudgingly at the stairs, they seemed to go on forever and his leg hurt badly. He had not told Elrond that it hurt so bad because he had not wanted them to be so worried as they had been. Keesha stayed in step with her master to make sure he had something to hold on to. He pulled her fur but she did not seem to care at all. She helped him on.
Arnon thought he was doing quite well when he started to loose his balance. He strained to grab on to the rail but missed as he fell backwards. Glorfindel had came out of his room just in time and caught the boy. Then lifted him up in his strong arms and walked up the stars. “You better be more careful.” Glorfindel said with a sigh. “Sorry I thought could make it.” Arnon bowed his head and let out a sigh. “Oh it is alright. It is a miracle to see you actually up and around.” The blonde haired elf said smiling.
“But! You still need some rest.” “Oh!” Arnon said as he yawned. “Lets us get you back to bed, hmm.” Glorfindel gently pushed the door open with his foot.
He set Arnon down on top of the bed covers then patted the bed for Keesha to get on. Keesha leapt on and curled into a circle. Arnon patted the dog on the head and rubbed her back. Glorfindel laid a blanket over Arnon’s legs and brushed his hair back. “You rest now.” Glorfindel smiled. “I will wait for Elrond to come and when he does I will go.” Glorfindel assured Arnon.
He sat down on the bed and waited. Arnon starred at him for a moment then he pulled the blanket close around his body and fell asleep.
Elrond came up to the room and set down the bowl of food for the dog. Keesha had heard the bowl and leapt down to eat. She ate hungrily and then moved on to the bowl of water.
While she was eating Elrond went over to Arnon, Glorfindel went over beside the bed and took Arnon’s warm hand. Elrond took the blanket off and undid the tunic and shirt the boy wore. He then took off the bandage and smeared medicine on his shoulder wound.
Arnon groaned and tried to back away, but Glorfindel reassured him by caressing his hand and brow. “It is alright.” Glorfindel whispered as he rubbed the boy’s hand.
“Elrond. What if Aerlennia does not return, or what if she is too badly wounded. She is frail and can be broken easily.” Glorfindel said in a whisper. “She will be fine, Glorfindel.” Elrond said as he wrapped the wound. Then he moved down to the leg and unwrapped the bandage.
Elrond got out another piece of linen and carefully wrapped the wound.
“For being one of the most wounded people I have ever seen live, he sure is quiet. Not much crying or hyperventilating, not even anger.” Elrond said as he finished and then put his hand on the boy’s brow. “Yes he is a wonder.” Glorfindel said as he stroked his hand through the Arnon’s hair. “Best we leave him alone to rest.” Elrond whispered picking up the linen that he had dropped. “We are expecting company anyway.” He opened the door for Glorfindel and they left quietly. “Maybe we can bring him up some food from the feast tonight.” Glorfindel said as they walked slowly down the beautiful white hall. “Possibly. Or if he is feeling better like he was this morning he could attend if he would like to.” Elrond said keeping his gaze on the hall. “Glorfindel, would you mind bringing theses down to the washroom, I must go wait and greet the guests. It is my duty as Lord of Rivendell.” Elrond looked at his friend with happy eyes. “Alright.” Glorfindel sighed and grabbed the linens from Elrond then started down the long hallway. “Thank You!” Elrond called as he went the opposite way and down the stairs and into his chamber.
He looked to see lying on a chair was a beautiful white robe with silver tassels and on a counter a silver circlet with sapphires embedded in the vines. He picked it up and looked at it, the sapphires shone like stars as he tilted it to and fro. He quickly put on the outfit and the circlet then braided two strands of his long brown hair and let them hang by the sides of his ears. Then he put the rest of his hair behind his shoulders. He looked at himself in a mirror and then finding that he looked excellent went out in the main room to find Glorfindel was waiting.
He wore a blue robe with white tassels, it dragged along the ground as he walked. “Shall I go and wake Arnon, and ask him?” Glorfindel asked Elrond.
“Yes, I suppose so.” Elrond said with a smile.
He handed Glorfindel a small green outfit. “What is this?” Glorfindel asked as he looked at the clothes. “His Garments.” Elrond said as he walked over to another part of the room and picked up a small flask. “Have him take this also.” Elrond handed Glorfindel the flask and patted him on the back.
“Yes of course.” Glorfindel said as he started up the stairs.
He went down the corridor to see Arnon and Keesha leaning over the railing looking down at where Elrond stood. “Ai, Master Arnon, you are awake.” Glorfindel said as he went down the hall.
Arnon looked at him with surprise. “What are you doing?” He asked a puzzled look on his face. “Coming to see you, Lord Elrond wishes your presence at the feast.” Glorfindel lead the boy back to his room. “Is that for me?” he asked with a grim look of displeasure on his face. “Yes, both. Medicine first, dressing after.” Glorfindel set the medicine on the bedside table and the clothes on a chair. “Now, how do you feel?”” Glorfindel asked smiling. “Fine.” Arnon said with a sigh as he picked up the cup of medicine.
Glorfindel watched intensely lowering his eyebrows. Arnon looked at him sadly then with a deep sigh drank the medicine and smiled. “It tasted good.” He said surprised. “Well what did you expect?” Glorfindel laughed.
