Alone in the dark,
No light and no spark.
Alone in the cold
With no one to hold.

Scared and afraid,
With no help and no aid.
Something draws near,
Incarnated fear.

The dark closes in,
Alone without kin.
It’s right behind me,
It’s something I can’t see.

All light has now gone,
No sunshine, no dawn.
No help in sight,
In the deepening fright.

I startle awake,
I quiver, I shake,
As my captors watch me,
I can’t move, I can’t see.

I suspect I will die here,
Bound with ropes and with fear.
But as I wait for the end,
Help comes in a friend.

But we are not done,
Excapes we have none.
For we must complete,
This astonishing feat.

As the light becomes near,
I stand with much fear.
But the confusion is great,
And the light is too late.

The evil consumes me,
And it won’t let me break free.
There’s no turning back,
No excape from the black.

I regret what I’ve done,
After how far we’ve come.
So now I must leave you,
After all that we’ve been through.

As we hug goodbye,
You can’t help but cry,
And you don’t want to let go,
Friend, I’ll miss you so.

As I sail away,
You watch until day
Turns into night,
All darkness, no light.
