First Snow
A mantle of crimson and golden leaves dying,
The grey geese crying in their pointed flight,
And a quiet snow falling into the small fire.
The lone elf throws more withered leaves on,
Pulls his cloak tighter around himself
And rests his head in his ancient hands.
Perhaps he remembers a silent snow long ago,
And lying by a man who warmed him inside.

That was beautiful! Too bad it wasn’t longer. For some reason not many people on COE do slash. And A/L is only trite and done if your writing is the same as everyone else’s. Beautiful poetic imagery!
