Immortal
He walked down the road one day
Standing tall with a fair face
Hair golden as the sun
Eyes as deep and blue as sapphires
Yet something was different about him
His eyes seemed distant
Almost as if seemed to see more than what lay before him
His face was full of grief and despair
Never would he wear a true smile again
His cloak was ragged
Full of tears
As if he had just come from a battle
A maiden called after him as he walked on
“Sir Why are you so sad?”
He turned around at the call
He grimaced and said nothing
Yet in his eyes I could tell his unhappiness
“It is the price of being immortal
Forever will I wander until I die from blade
Or the grief that has overcome me”
With that he turned and walked away
It soon began to rain
As it poured the maiden stood
Her tears falling with it
She thought,”Great it once was to me to be Immortal
Now I know the truth
It is better to die of age than live forever
To forever wander and watch your friends die”
The figure of the man soon disappeared
She turned away and walked in the opposite direction
Now looking at everything in a new way
Knowing now that she should enjoy what life she has
