Into the Abyss by Calypso
Shadow becomes darkess
Darkness causes fear
Fear causes chaos
Into the cold abyss I walk
Into a place without light
Into an endless tunnel I walk
From a place I can never return
The darkness encloses
The darkness surrounds
When normally you would see dawn
You now see a starless sky
Against the darkness you must use the light
Though the stars maynot be seen
You must belive in their light

This is really cool. Into the Abyss- perfect to describe going to school. lol- I see what you mean, though, it describes LOTR perfectly, in a lot of different places.
I really like the ryhtm of this poem – gets into your head, makes you feel the dimness and the cold. Great job 😉 ~Rudh
