(Gary is leading Freda and Samantha through the hallways.)

Gary: Come on Samantha and be careful, both of you. Mr. Saroun has many spies in his service: students and teachers. Never use the pen for the agents of the dark Princaple will be drawn to itÂ’s ink. Always remember, Freda, the Pen is trying to get back to the Princaple. It wants to be found.

(Gary walks off. Freda and Samantha walk through the hallways and down the stairs. Samantha stops.)

Samantha: This is it.

Freda: What?

Samantha: If I take one more step, itÂ’ll be the farthest away from our homeroom weÂ’ve gone.

Freda: Oh come on. Remember what Bill used to say? “It’s a dangerous thing, Freda, stepping out of the classroom. You get out into the hallways and if you don’t watch it, there’s no telling what will happen.” (Something I find true for my school.)

(Gary walks into the honor studentÂ’s homeroom)

Sheldon: Hey Gary! HowÂ’s it going man? IÂ’m sure you came to get my totally cool advice.

Gary: UmÂ…sure.

(They walk through the ninth-grade hall)

Sheldon: So, man. YouÂ’re pretty sure youÂ’ve found the pen of power.

Gary: Positive. All these semesters and it was in the band room, all this time.

Sheldon: Yet you did not have the sense to see it. Your love of the band has clearly messed with your mind.

Gary: Sheldon, we still have time to stop Mr. Sauron.

Sheldon: Really. What time do we have?

(Inside the computer lab.)

Sheldon: Mr. Saroun has regained much of his job stability. He cannot yet come out but his will has lost none of its potency. Concealed in his office, the principle of MJH seeÂ’s all. You know what IÂ’m talking about. He has a huge hidden camera that sees all the studentÂ’s actions.

Gary: The hidden camara of Mr. Saroun.

Sheldon: He is gathering all evil students and staff to him. Very soon, he will be able to launch an attack of unlimited homework upon MJH.

Gary: Wait. How do you know all of this.

Sheldon: I have heard it.

(Sheldon logs into the computer and gets on the chat room)

Gary: The chat room is a dangerous tool, Sheldon.

Sheldon: Why should we fear to use it?

Gary: They are not all accounted for, the lost screen names. We do not know who else may be on.

(Gary switches off the computer, seeing the camera of Mr. Sauron flash in his mind.)

Sheldon: You really need to get in the swing of things, man. Mr. SauronÂ’s students and staff are already patrolling the school. The Nine football players have left the gym.

Gary: The pen wraiths!

Sheldon: TheyÂ’ve went into the music hall, disguised under all their football gear.

Gary: Oh man! TheyÂ’ve reached the band room already?

Sheldon: They will find the PenÂ…and beat up the one who carries it.

Gary: Freda!

(Gary runs to the door, but Sheldon presses the automatic lock button.)

Gary: *Raising his binder* Tell me. “friend.” When did Sheldon the honor student abandon coolness for insanity?

(Sheldon raises his binder and a fight between honor students begins. Sheldon knocks GaryÂ’s binder out of his hands.)

Sheldon: I gave you the chance of helping me, but youÂ…have been dumb enough.. to choose the way of pain.

(SheldonÂ’s friends run in and tie Gary up. They lock him in the attic.)
