Chapter 1

Naira walked down the halls of Mirkwood. She had been sent here to give King Thranduil a message.
Of course she had not been sent alone, she had been sent with another Elf named Morion.

Naira and Morion did not get along, and Naira was very upset that Elrond would send him with her.

Naira couldn’t wait to get back to Rivendell though, her fiance waited for her there, they would be married next week, when the time of Spring came.

Naira had found herself alone after having told the message to King Thranduil. She didn’t know where Morion had gone off to, but didn’t care in the slightest. This would be a good time to rest, she thought.

When she came to the door to her room she heard soft whispering and giggling.

Naira followed the voice until she could see two figures in a dark corner kissing. Naira rolled her eyes.
It was Morion, with some maiden of Mirkwood. Her fingers ran through his dark hair.

“Do you have no shame Morion? Do you never think of poor Ninque?” Naira asked.

The maiden suddenly gasped and backed away. Morion looked at her with a smirk.

When the maiden heard of Ninque she slapped his face and walked away. Naira then turned and walked back to her room. She smiled at having ruined Morion’s little romance.

“Well, if you must know it was not what you think. She was showing me around, and then I was enraptured by her beauty and had to give her a kiss before I left,” Morion said, he still had that charming smirk on his face.

Naira rolled her eyes and was about to push her door open but he stepped in the way.

“Would you mind if I kissed you before you left?” Morion asked.

Naira glared at him. “I am faithful to my fiance, unlike yourself,” Naira said, she pushed him out of the way.

Morion suddenly looked very confused. “Fiance? I don’t have a fiance,” Morion said.

Naira rolled her eyes muttered, “Idiot” under her breath, then she stepped into her room.

Morion still seemed quite confused by her comment, but he walked away.

When Naira was in the safety of her room she sighed. Finally she was away from Morion.

He wasn’t known to kiss every maiden he saw but he was annoying none the less, and very undecisive.
He had had three fiances before Ninque, and she knew that Morion was just acting up, as soon as they got back to Rivendell the two of them would be in each others arms and talking about marriage plans, unless of course he changed his mind again.

Naira sat down on her bed and lifted a book off the table. She decided to read it now that there was finally silence. She didn’t have any message to carry and Morion would be in his room for the remainder of the night, unless he found another maiden that wanted to show him around.

Naira laid down in her bed and instead of reading she thought about Tauro, she couldn’t wait to marry him. She was so happy, life was good to her.

Naira fell asleep with dreams of being with Tauro again and being his wife and living together in their own house. Life would be wonderful, and they would never be unhappy as long as they had each other.

Naira fell asleep with a smile on her face.
