How the Eastern sky is blazing bright!
Darkness and shadow have fled from sight,
now banished by the sun.

Long winter’s chill has taken flight!
The world of man is set aright!
His throne, the king has won!

How bravely they did fight!
On heroes’ tombs we’ll write
