Out of the Night by Eowyn_HorseJoy
Disclaimer: All I own are my thoughts, which you soon shall read. Beware; these thoughts are of one far beyond sanity and exaustion, merely a waking dream. It begins now.
Listen to the tale of a wish
Listen to the voice from the night
Leave yourself and wander in another’s mind
A swirl of color, dark, and light
It began with a girl sitting alone
On a night when the moon and stars were veiled
Silently waiting for morning light
So she could continue her dreary tale
Her tale of a school where she was friendless
And a home where she was misundersood
And to escape her life of endless
Monotony, she had her books
She loved to read another’s tale
Where courage and friendship rang true
Where valiant men fought to the death
So far from the life she knew
From the darkness she spoke a wish sincere
Her voice so small in the great stillness
To be anywhere but here
As far away, a clock struck twelve
She at last succumbed to sleep
And woke up in a place she knew
Yet where she had never been
And so she entered Middle Earth
She stood upon a forest’s eaves
The trees loomed tall and dark
Her feet crunched on the fallen leaves
As she trod her chosen path
I can feel your anticipation
As the climax nears
Well, I leave that to your speculation
That’s for you to decide
Will she meet untimly doom?
Was it just a dream?
Think carefully, it’s up to you
Her fate rests in your hands
We all have path that we must travel
You have yours and I have mine
And I suppose that’s it my friends
I bid you all godbye

Wow. I like this a lot. I think everyone on this site (being a Lord of the Rings fan) can completly understand, relate to, and enjoy this poem. Thank you for writing it, I love it very much. I am exactly like the girl in the poem for I always find refuge in books, and so this is dear to me. It had a beginning, middle, and “end”; it flowed and rhymed perfectly. Wonderful job and please continue writing and posting!
Wow. I like it, and I usually don’t like poetry! (Except that I do, only I don’t…oh, never mind) Anyway, I love how you caught the mood. God bless your day!
It flowed so perfectlly. I’m not a big fan of poetry,(except for Beowulf) but this was great! Please keep writing.
