Pipin stared with Gandalf at the long hallway in beautiful marble leading to the throne of Denethor of Gondor. They were both told to leave their weapons aside, and Pippin did not want to leave behind the sword that was given tohim by Aragorn. He walked closed to te throne, and noticed that Gandalf was still carrying his staff. Pip breathed a sigh of relief, but realized that the man that was sitting on the throne did look like Boromir.
In a scared and hurt voice, Pippin told Denethor the last time that he had heard the Horn sounding, and that they did not have help come but instead he and Merry were carried off by a band of orcs. Denethor surveyed Pippin closer and another man emerged from the shadows, dressed in a cloak of beautiful green, he was Faramir, and he wanted to find out how Pip had lived with his brother.Pippin went privately with Faramir, and was not afraid, he talked of how his brother taught them all to be brave warriors and to fight with a sword, and to fight with your mind, if you did not have your weapons handy. Pip told of the weapons practice that Boromir gave to them, as well as instuctions with Boromir on how to live in the wild, and how to make sure because he was a human and part of the fellowship that all on the quest were safe. Pippin felt comfortable with Faramir, and reached beneath his travel stained cloak and offered his sword in service to Faramir. He told Faramir it would be what his brother would have wanted, and it would keep Boromir’s spirit alive in the hearts of men, in the hearts of those that had loved him! As Gandalf also had. And then Faramir smiled, and accepted the little hobbit as one of his own.
