****A/N These characters aren’t mine, obviously, it’s just my own story about what happens in ROTK when Sam gets up from the table and goes to Rosie. You don’t see anything in the movie and this is what I like to think happened.****

Sam and Rosie
Sam raised his mug with his friends in a silent toast to the events that had taken place the last few months. They were all exhausted but none could sleep and this night they had slowly shown up, one by one, at the Greendragon. Sam looked passed his friends and saw a familiar face behind the bar.

He watched her for a few moments before she noticed and smiled at him. Sam blushed and looked to his drink. Suddenly he got a burst of courage. He had fancied Rosie since he first set eye’s on her and finally today he would do something about it. He pushed his mug away and stood up. Frodo, Merry and Pippin looked questioningly at him but he did not say anything as he left the table.

Pippin watched as Sam walked behind Frodo and Merry and began to head towards the counter. Just then he caught sight of Rosie and an excited grin spread across his face. Frodo and Merry turned to see what was going on and their eyes grew wide and they turned back to their drinks, eagerly awaiting signs from Pippin about what was happening behind them.

Sam stood at the counter and waited patiently until Rosie was done with the other hobbits at the bar. Soon she was done and as she turned to him his heart skipped a beat.

“Good evening Sam, what can I get you?” Rosie asked setting a mug on the counter.

“I-I’ll just get another ale.” Sam asked, wishing he could just be out with it.

“Alright then,” Rosie said and picked the mug up to place it under the tap.

“No wait!” Sam said and he put his hand on her arm, “I–I–”

“Yes Sam?” Rosie asked, looking into his eyes.

Sam stared back for a few moments then took a deep breath and lead Rosie to the entrance at the back of the bar.

“Sam, I–” Rosie looked around her not sure of what was going on.

“Rosie Cotton,” Sam got down on one knee, “Rosie Cotton will you marry me?” Sam and Rosie stared at each other for what felt like an eternity to him before Rosie gave her answer.

“Yes.” She whispered so quietly Sam could not hear.

“What?” He asked and Rosie pulled him to his feet.

“I will marry you Samwise Gamgee.” Rosie cried and kissed the surprised yet ecstatic Sam.

Just then the entire tavern erupted in cheers and the happy couple turned to face the crowd, each wearing big grins on their faces.

Sam and Rosie were wed May 1 1420 by Shire Reckoning of the third age. The ceremony was remembered for years as one of the most beautiful ever held in The Shire
