Shire Memories
As I walk through the sunlight fields.
As I watch the pink softness of the sunset.
I see the visions of my past.
There, the huge comforting tree
That let me cry under it.
When my parents’ spirits fled.
The hill with happy daises,
That smiled with me
When uncle Bilbo took me in.
The clear-lit pond
Where I met Sam,
That is still my clear light.
The friendly patch of clovers
Where I met Gandalf,
My wise old friend.
Now I sit
Under the huge comforting tree
Thinking how this moment
Will soon become a memory.
And when everyone’s
Spirit has fled
The memory will linger.
The huge comforting tree,
The hill with happy daises,
The clear-lit pond,
The friendly patch of clovers
They will remember these moments
In the pink softness of the sunset.
