So long ago I slept in peace
So long ago I wondered how long it took flower to bloom
But this is not long ago
It is the present
A time of violence and anger
I can run and hide
But it will not help me
I will run and hide
But sooner or later he will find me
Decisions in hope of a better world
Turned this world down a long dark road
So I will stand my ground
I made these decisions and I will see their end!
My ground is shaky
But I will hold firm
I will let the darkness wash over me
And I will pass through it
To its source
And I will take the problems in stride
I will finish what I started
I will not let people die for my mistakes
I can sing
I can dance
But now is not the time for song or dance
It is the time for war and remembrance
So if you will follow me
To whatever end we may achieve
Good or bad I will stand
I hope that once again there will be peace
And I can again wonder how long it takes a flower to bloom
But not yet so help me if you choose
Think not long on your decision
But do not decide in haste
Come and stand by me if you will
Together we may right the wrongs of the past
Wherever they will take us.

Life can flow from a hand
But kindness flows from helping another
Helping a person preserve your families’ lives
Protecting your life
Is not a thing to forget
Yet only a few will stand
And guard their world with me
I only hope you are one of them
