Song of Legolas by Aranel_lady_of_evening
Light now fades into the dark
and the sun has gone
the nightingale sings upon the birch bow
declaring day is done
A lonely rose still hopes for light
to open its blossomed bud
and the fire’s red flames at last go out
leaving coals as red as blood
Night now soothes the darkened earth
into a peaceful sleep
and harks unto the midnight sky
her fields of stars to reap
(Elvish Version)
Galad si sinte min I dur
ar ianor orn lende
I dulin lire amon ibrethil luva
Eques I arya na’ av
a eressea vire’ still estel ten galad
an etera sas loth tuima
I nars ruin yallume lelya et
lesta coals ya caran ya seleg
lo’ si soothes I moread kemen
min a sendal lore`
Ar harks tein I enlo` vilya
Ase lava` of elen an reep

I love the Elvish translation. Well done!
I have to say I didn’t expect much, but I most certainly underestimated you and I apologize.
It has the atmosphere of a summer night and I can very good imagine Legolas singing it and the expression on his face, too. A good poem, Aranel…
