The Call of Valinor by Alatariel1013
Once upon a starlit night, I walked under the moon’s faint light
Singing songs of long ago, that told of Elven lore
As I sang, the noise of thunder, brought to my mind curious wonder
Was it thunder rumbling above the western shore?
‘That it is’ I said aloud, ‘Tis thunder on the western shore-
Only this and nothing more’
I waited for a crack of light, to go flashing through the night
But the only light I saw was moonlight, nothing more
As I walked carefully through the trees, I heard the noise of Western seas
Rolling up and settling with ease upon the sandy western shore
‘There it is’ I said aloud, ‘the water on the western shore-
Flowing out to Valinor’
As I gazed my heart beat fast, I held my breath and stared, aghast
The moonlight was reflected in the water on the shore
I stepped out to walk upon the sand; I bent and grabbed some in my hand
This was wondrous, precious land, the white and ghostly western shore
‘This is it’ I said aloud, ‘The only way to Valinor-
Starting on the western shore’
As I stood I heard the sea, it was calling out to me
Calling me across the sea to the fair Valinor
I made no effort to resist; I stared across through the faint mist
And squeezed the soft sand in my fist, while I stood on the sandy shore
‘I will go’ I said aloud, while standing on the sandy shore-
‘I shall go to Valinor’

Wow…. that was cool….. lovely imagery + an interesting rhyme scheme = one great poem! Well done!!
Very very nice!!! 🙂
Haha, awesome! That was a really cool idea – to morph the Raven, sort of…
I did something kinda like that not to long ago. My friend and I changed the prologue to “Romeo and Juliet” so that it described a Mafia crime… yeah, it was weird. Your poem is much cooler, of course. 🙂
Loved your beautiful imagery! Sea and moonlight. Great job!
Woa! Thats really good! =D
