A/N Here’s my first fanfic, new and improved! Dun dun dun daaaaaaah!!!

Arwen gazed up at the trees, her breath becoming shallower. Her son, Eldarion, sat at her side and held her aged hand. It had been a year since his father passed and now he was losing his mother. He studied her with a careful eye. She was once full of light and happiness, her skin glowing like the moon and her eyes shone. But her skin had become cold and gray, and her eyes had become like stone.

“Eldarion.” She whispered his name and he came near her.

“Yes naneth? (mother).” She stroked the top of his hand with her thumb.

“I’m sorry. I will have to leave you soon.” His eyes immediately filled with salty tears. He tucked a piece of her grayed hair behind her ear.

“Don’t be. You will be with ada (father) soon. I know you will finally be happy.”

She gave him a sad smile. “You have so much of your father in you. Every time I see your sweet face, I see him.”

She touches his cheek with her hand and a tear fell from Eldarion’s eye onto it. She wipes it away. “The last time I wiped a tear from your eye you were 10 years old and you scraped your knees on the palace steps. Do not weep for me.”

Eldarion took in a shaky deep breath and wiped his tears. She smiled for the first time in over a year.

“I remember when you were first born. You were the light of your father’s eye. The first time I saw him hold you was the best moment of my life. I know you will grow to be a great King.”

He smiled. “I hope I will. I want to be as great a King as father was.”

Her breathing became more shallow and she squeezed Eldarion’s hand. “I fear the grief is taking over my heart. I am leaving now.”

She kissed his hand and a tear hung in her eye.

“Namarie (farewell) for now my son.”

Arwen closed her eyes, her last sight being the faded trees of Lorien. When she opened her eyes, she was in a well-lit forest, lying in a field of sweet smelling grass. She sat up and looked around. She heard a familiar voice crying “Tinuviel Tinuviel!!”

She looked around for the voice and she saw a figure shaded by the trees. It emerged from the shadows, a jade green cloak trailing behind him, the Ring of Barahir on his index finger and Anduril sheathed at his side. His bearded face formed a smile. A gasp escaped from her throat and her face lit up.

“Estel?” He smiled and opened his arms and she ran into them, laughing and crying at the same time. She kissed his lips, remembering the feeling of his warm soft kiss and he took her hand and led them further into the forest, finally together again. For all eternity. Meanwhile, Eldarion was still holding his mothers stone cold hand. Tears filled his eyes, yet he was smiling. He kissed his mothers forehead.

“Namarie.”
