The elf and the man

An elvish maiden in a park
Tries hard to find her way
She comes across a singing lark
And thinks ‘what can it say’

It tells a tale of a true love
A pair that should not be
As a single pure white dove
Sits on a two-bird tree

And then she looks up to the sky
Her eyes will soon behold
A truly drop-dead gorgeous guy
Her heart has just been sold

As Aragorn drops from a tree
And looks into her eyes
“‘Tis a dream that has taken me,
You’re the loveliest,” he sighs

The story does go on from here
But you all know the rest,
So walk away and do not fear
This poem is not my best
