The Everlasting Battle- part 1

The days light dims,
The shadows of the night creep in,
The rays of light grow slim,
And the darkness begins to win.

The snowflakes fall at the midnight hour,
And the forest begins to glow,
Then darkness begins to cower,
As the light comes back slow.

All fears are soon released,
The forest is now bright,
Then all evil has creased,
Now all is surrounded by light.

Yet spots still remain,
Dark, gloomy, gray,
Wild, unknown, deadly, untamed,
It’s in these spots darkness lurks where it may.

Death is calling it, always,
Light is charging it, forever,
The forest fights it, all days,
It’s own hunger chases it, stopping never.

When darkness begins to gain ground,
Fear is distinctly known,
To all evil is now bound,
And fright has now flown.

The trees stir and murmur,
As the darkness draws near,
Darkness now grows firmer,
And evil emplaces in them true fear.

The moon is the good Queen,
And the stars are her knights,
The battles are never what theyve seen,
In the ever constant fights.

Always changing its course,
Never stopping the battle,
Forever condemned to use force,
That makes the trees rattle.

Then out peaks the sun,
A soft glow appears,
As you see the first horse run,
Then all in the meadow awake deer.

For now the battle is done,
Yet neither force has won.
