The Horses¡¦ Diaries

Hello again. My second Lord of the Rings Fan Fic. Third one is one the way. 😉

*Disclaimer Note* I don¡¦t own anything¡K etc, etc. You know the drill.

I¡¦m gonna start before the time of The Two Towers.

Each chapter will have one day. Each horse (Shadowfax, Hasufel, Arod and Brego). For those who don¡¦t know, Shadowfax is Gandalf¡¦s horse. Hasufel is the brown (or chestnut for you horse loving freaks ;-)) horse given to Aragorn by Eomer. Arod is the white (or technically speaking, grey) horse given to Legolas by Eomer. Brego is Theodred¡¦s horse who is turned free (by order of Aragorn) who finds Aragorn after floating down the river after the Wargs. Brego also leads Aragorn to see the 10,000 Uruk Hai and is also seen outside the Black Gate (or so I think :-?). Anyway, on with the story. Or should I say: Let the story begin?

Dear Diary

I saw Gandalf today. He¡¦s still as grey as ever. I wish he could change colour. Grey is soooooooo last year. Once Gandalf stopped talking to me, I went to eat some grass. The green grass is particulary good. I also saw a bug. And I was like ¡§So, whatz up, little dude?¡¨ And he was like: ¡§Oh. Nothing much, big dude.¡¨ I thought I heard something so I turned around. After that, I couldn¡¦t find him. Well, I have some grass to eat. Write again tomorrow.

Day 1
Dear Diary

I spent my day at the back of the herd. I didn¡¦t feel like trotting very fast. Lord Eomer was very grumpy. Kept moaning at my rider telling him to keep me going and to stop me from lagging behind. Wonder what bug crawled his butt? Anyway, now he says we have to travel through the night to get back home to Edoras. Just my luck. Oh well. I¡¦ll have to write again tomorrow.

Dear Diary

Today, Hasufel was really lazy. I feel sorry for his rider. Eomer was shouting a lot at him. I was in the middle, hoping Hasufel would pick up the pace and run next to me. But he didn¡¦t. I was so bored. I enjoy playing ¡§I spy¡¨ with him when we have long runs. Instead, I had to play it with Sparky the Wonderhorse who kept seeing grass. Well, good news is, we¡¦ll be home tomorrow. Bad news is, we have to travel through the night. Traveling at night isn¡¦t too bad. Well, we¡¦re leaving soon.

Dear Diary

¡§How much wood could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood?¡¨ This is what I was asked today. I answered ¡§74¡¨. It is, of course, a random number. I don¡¦t know who came up with that question and I have no idea what the answer is. When I answered, the horse who asked started laughing so hard, Lord Theodred had to tell his rider to keep up. I honestly don¡¦t get it. Well, I¡¦m turning in for the night.
