It was a much needed rainy day, although after many days of pleasurable sunshine. The gardens surrounding Bag End looked as enchanted in the rain as it did in the beautiful sunshine. After the beginning of the Fourth Age, many gardens in the Shire became the wonders of many, but none were as vast as the one that resided in the front, sides, and back of the Gardener family home.

‘Daddy, Daddy!’ yelled a little Elanor as she found her father in his office, writing in a small red leather covered book. ‘Why hello there darling!’ replied her father, as the young Elanor’s mother, Rose opened the door.
‘Elly, you shouldn’t disturb your father while he is writing,’
‘She’s quite alright, dear,’ replied Sam. At that moment, there came a knock on the door. Elanor went running out of the room, apparantly pleased there was a visitor.
‘Who’s come to see me! Gaffer!? Uncle Merry and Uncle Pippin!? Grampa Cotton!?’ she yelled while running down the hall. Rose went quickly chasing her, and luckily, got to the door first. She opened it, not to find the Gaffer, Elanors Uncle Merry or Pippin, or Grampa Cotton. It was a tall, deranged man heavily cloaked. She looked up to find a face, but it was covered by the soaking hood. Without permission the man walked into the house and gave himself a seat on a couch not far from the door.
‘Samwise!’ Rosie called for her husband.
‘Just a minute!’ he walked into the living room, and at first sight of the man he froze. The man had taken his hood off. He had a worn, but cheerful face. He had shoulder-length, deep brown hair.
‘Hello Samwise…..’
