Once there was an Elven lady
Bright and lovely as the dawn
She was loved and loved in turn
A king of men, a mortal one

She renounced her ancient right
She became a mortal queen
Her family left the country’s shores
To journey to th’ Undying Lands

She brought peace to the lands of men
Together with her loving king
But, though he lived 200 years,
He died and left her woebegone

She journeyed to the silent woods
Left in peace by Elves so fair
And there she laid alone to rest
To sleep until the dusk of life

And so she sleeps in e’ergreen woods
The leaves of brown and green surround
Her silent form so beautiful
They give her peace, they stand their guard

Around the tomb all life grows still
Her body now no longer seen
The wood prevents a spying glance
The Evenstar doth sleep in peace
She who once a mortal queen.
