Once you’ve wandered far from home
To the deepest part of Hell
You think you’d rejoice when you return
But that’s not the tale I have to tell

Life seems so tame now, so pointless
With no important mission
I wander looking for a purpose
But no one needs me now

I yearn for new horizons
For some new quest
For though my journey made me wish for home
Now that I’m here I cannot rest

I set out to save the Shire
But once I went beyond
I could not wholy return
Part of me is gone

Now I can never rest
The journey must go on
I cannot linger here much longer
I leave on the morrow’s dawn

I will sail across the sea
To explore new horizons
Where adventures wait for me
As a new sun rises
