Looking for a word

or perhaps creating one....
I am looking for something that might be the equivalent of step-father or foster-father---
There is the word berio- meaning to protect which I could change to
berior
(?) meaning protector, or there is the word
odhron
meaning parent.
I was hoping for something along the lines of
gwanur
vs.
gwador
(brother/sworn brother).
Thoughts?

How about
haeronadar
('ae' might change 'e' or 'é'?) meaning 'distant father', i.e. unrelated?
Come to think of it that could mean 'ancestor' so how about
edwenadar
'second father'?
