Post Just a short and probably easy elvish phrase to translate
on: January 27, 2005 03:47
Hi.. I'd like to know if anybody could tell me, what "gelleth velleth nîn" means?

The reason that I want to know is kind of embarrasing.. But if you really want to know, ask me. I searched in the forum, if there had been any questions about this phrase before, but I didn't find any. Sorry if there was anyway.

You probably misheard the phrase gerich veleth nîn which means "You have my love".

Well, actually it's written.. But perhaps it's a mistake from the writers side. But thanks!

I almost forgot, I have another phrase.. "I ene su damine", do you know that one too?

No, sorry "i ene su damine" is neither Sindarin nor Quenya. It dosn't look like 'grelvish' either... are you sure it's supposed to be Elvish?

'Gelleth' looks to me like a coined name also...

I agree. I've seen Gelleth used as a Sindarin translation of 'Joyce'.
