Post Verbs?

Suilad!

I was wondering if anyone knew what these verbs are in sindarin:

-to sleep
-to wake
-to be ill/sick
-to remember

any help would be much appreciated! Thank you!

There aren't any. There are, however, "Neo-Sindarin" reconstructions for three of those:

"losta-" (to sleep)
"echuia-" (to wake)
"ren-" (to remember)

The last one I know is a 'reconstruction' for the Movies by David Salo, but apologies, can't remember who deserves the 'credit' for the other two.

I don't think there can be a verb (reconstructed or not) for "to be sick/ill." Sick and ill are physical (or mental) states of being, and can't be verbs. There's no completely attested conjugation for the verb 'to be' in Sindarin, besides the imperative 'no.'

If it helps any, there are two adjectives for sick/ill: caeleb and lhaew.

Why not? We have such a verb in English: 'to ail'.

Indeed we do. Which makes me wonder if - by 'extension' - in the sense of health 'fading' as an interpretation of 'being ill/sick', for "Neo-Sindarin" purposes - the verb pel- (to fade/wither) could be an option.

I was stating that there can't be a literal translation for 'to be sick.' Perhaps a translation for 'to ail' would work, because ail is a verb. Sick and ill are not verbs; it can't be said that 'he sick' or 'they ill.' Alternately, 'ail' cannot be anything but a verb. It can't be said that 'I am ail' or 'she feels ail.'
