Does anyone know a good site for Old English poems with their modern English translations? I've only just started getting interested in the language of the Rohirrrim!!!
Also, does anyone know where to get an English translation of a famous Old English poem called 'the Wifes Lament'?
Any help will be much appreciated!

(ps. yes, I know this is a SINDARIN forum, but doesnt it seem more appropriate to put a post about language in a language forum?)

"Beowulf" is probably the most well-known OE text. The Seamus Heaney translation has gotten rave reviews. There are good language resources for OE too. Maybe start with Stephen Pollington's "First Steps in Old English". Amazon has many others, too. Still, don't expect to grab OE texts and be able to get anything out of them from looking at the mod English "translation". The modes of expression are radically different so that any word-for-word translation would be totally off the mark. Start with a basic grammar book like Pollington. But that's okay, because OE grammar books were built around the OE text remnants.

I have recently found myself googlin' up OE. You might like this one.

And if you want to hear some OE, check this site.
